Product Description
Have you ever felt used and abused? Just about all of us have felt that way at one time or another. We're not talking about physical abuse, although this is a problem in some relationships; we're talking about emotional abuse. In many ways, emotional abuse is more damaging and harder to heal from than physical abuse. Whoever said "sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me," didn't realize that broken bones heal a lot faster than wounded hearts and souls.
Emotional abuse is subtle and dangerous. It can undermine our self-confidence. It can cut to our very core, inflicting wounds that many people never heal form. And what's worse is that emotional abuse has become common and pervasive in our culture. The relationships depicted in movies and TV shows as normal are usually abusive, making abuse seem a normal and natural part of relationships. It isn't.
One myth many people have about abuse is that abusers are typically men. This simply isn't true. While men can abuse women, it is equally true that women abuse men. Nor is emotional abuse limited to couples. Parents are often abusive with children and children often learn to abuse parents in return. Abuse also happens in the workplace and even in friendships.
Believe it or not, most abusive people aren't doing so out of malice. They may not even be trying to harm you. Rather, they are acting out of their own intense pain, fear and shame using primitive defensive mechanisms they learned a long time ago. Moreover, abusers often feel that they cannot control these reactions and that their victims are to blame for what they are doing. However, whether the abuser intends malice or not, the victim of abuse still suffers, and, if they do not take steps to stop the abuse, it can wear away at their self-confidence, sense of self-worth and even make them doubt their own perceptions.
Emotional abuse is any behavior that is designed to control another person through the use of fear, guilt, shame, humiliation, intimidation, manipulation or the refusal to be pleased. It can take the form of constant berating, belittling or nagging, or it can come through intimidation involving the threat of some kind of punishment, or it can even come under the guise of "guidance."
In this webinar, Gary Brodsky and Steven Horne will discuss in detail abusive tactics and how to recognize them. We'll also talk about what to do when you find yourself in an abusive situation. We'll also discuss things you can do to heal if you have been a victim of emotional abuse in the past.
Gary Brodsky has inside information about how media and political correctness have been used as weapons to turn men and women against each other, break up families and destroy loving feelings between people. He has counseled many men who have been victims of abuse by women and was taught tactics in the CIA that can be used to abuse and destroy a person. He readily understands the insidious nature of abuse and how to combat it.
Steven Horne has been doing emotional healing work for 23 years and has helped victims of physical, sexual and emotional abuse to find healing and escape abusive situations. He teaches people how rediscover their own heart and internal sense of right and wrong to escape the mental and emotional scars of abuse. Having been in abusive relationships himself, he understands how abuse can wear you down and what you have to do to learn to stand up to abuse in a non-abusive way and find healing.
This webinar was going to be held Thursday, October 8 and Thursday, October 15, but is being postponed. We didn't have enough time to promote it properly and will try hosting it again at a later date. You will be able to ask questions on the webinar or submit them before hand for discussion. The webinars will be recorded and you will be able to download the recordings if you miss the live class. You'll also be able to download the recordings and handouts for review.
The webinar is just $47. An abusive relationship can cost you thousands, not to mention the intense psychological damage it will do. If you have ever been the victim of abuse, or know someone who has, this webinar will really help you understand and heal. Sign-up today.
