Get Trained as a Professional Herbalist
In Your Own Home or Office
With Steven Horne and Thomas Easley's
Advanced Herbal Training Program
Commercial herbalism greatly impoverishes our understanding of and ability to use herbal remedies. Many herb companies approach herbs using an overly simplified disease-treatment approach. For instance, when people think of saw palmetto, they've been to taught to think of prostate problems for men. Thus, people don't know that saw palmetto aids digestion, improves lung function and acts as a nourishing tonic to the elderly. They also don't know that there may be other herbs that are better for prostate problems than saw palmetto.
Herbs are not just alternatives to drugs. They are complex mixtures of nutrients like vitamins and minerals, and other phytochemicals that act upon the body in very holistic ways. They also have life energy, which acts in a homeopathic-like way to help move the body towards balance and proper function.
Steven Horne and Thomas Easley, two professional members of the American Herbalist’s Guild, would like to help you take your herbal understanding beyond the limitations of modern commercial herbalism with their new Advanced Herbal Training Program. And, using the modern technology of webinars, you'll be able to attend their classes in your own home or office.
A webinar is an internet-based class, which you can listen to over the phone (long distance charges would apply) or over your computer using voice-over internet. You can also view the PowerPoint presentations for the class on your computer or follow along with handouts you'll be able to download from a password protected class page. You'll also be able to ask questions by typing them in during the presentation.
To acquaint you with this form of instruction, simply register for the two free preview classes Steven and Thomas are teaching on January 11 and January 18, 2011.
If you miss a live webinar class, don't worry, each class will be recorded and you'll be able to download the recording from a password protected class page. The recordings will be in two formats: wmv (windows media video) which you can view on your computer using Windows Media Player and mp3 (audio only) which you can listen to on an I-pod or any other mp3 enabled device.
Each module will focus on herbs for a particular body system or purpose, such as remedies for the immune system, cardiovascular system or digestion. Steven and Thomas will cover a group of single herbal remedies for that system in great detail, profiling each plant's botany, phytochemistry, folklore and energetics. You’ll not only learn new herbal remedies, you'll also discover new uses for herbal remedies with which you're already familiar.
But, the class won't stop with single herbs. You'll also learn how these herbs are combined in commercial herb formulas. When you're done with this program you'll be able to read the label of any Western herbal formula and understand what it does. You'll even learn techniques that will help you formulate your own effective herbal blends.
Each module will consist of five two-hour webinars
for a total of ten hours of professional instruction in modern herbal
medicine from two skilled herbalists. This is more instruction than you'd receive in a one-day live class and you'll have no travel expenses. To attend almost any professionally taught one-day live class would cost you between $150 to $250 just for the class, plus hotel, meals and possibly even airfare, which means attending a weekend seminar can cost as much as $800 to $1,000.
With this webinar technology you can get ten hours of instruction in your own home for just $157. And, you'll have the recordings and materials to review as often as you like. Plus, we'll give discounts for early registration, which can save an additional $30 and get all this instruction for just $127 per module.
The knowledge alone is worth the price, but if it's credibility you're looking for, we're also offering an optional certificate of completion for each module. All you have to do is submit the required homework exercises and pass them at 90% accuracy and we'll send you a certificate of completion for each module.
But that's not all, these modules will be part of an Professional Herbal School, Steven and Thomas are putting together to help students reach the professional standards of herbal practice required by the American Herbalist's Guild. So you'll be getting credit towards an even larger certification program. More information on this school will be released during the early part of 2011.

To prepare students for this Advanced Herbal Training Program, Steven and Thomas are teaching two free webinars on Advanced Herbal Medicine. These webinars will talk about understanding plants from both the biochemical and energetic models. They'll also discuss how herbs work synergistically in formulas and give in-depth profiles of several herbs as a sample of the kind of material you'll be learning in this class.
